As the field emerges rapidly, user-centered methods and techniques for all phases have to be developed and assessed against their applicability in different fields, domains, and technologies.
Research on methods and techniques has also to focus on their applicability by differently skilled and trained people. In the early days of usability engineering the methods and techniques were applied by highly experienced people, whereas now people with different backgrounds have to apply them during different stages of the development process.
The relatively new field of user experience requires methods and tools to study user experience and its implications for interaction design. We are continuously working on innovative, valid methods and techniques for human-technology interaction.
